“I have been a part of the Speedy Stop team for 11 ½ years. I began in the store as a CSR working the evening shift. I was given the opportunity to advance to Assistant Manager about nine months after starting with the company. I was later promoted to Store Manager at the same location (SS#8). As the company was growing and upgrading store computers, I was given the opportunity to assist the District Manager in the Victoria Area. This later turned into a permanent position, and I have been in the District Manager position for a little over four years. I have enjoyed working with the Speedy Stop team. I have had the privilege to work with different store personnel, vendors, technicians, and have formed friendships with many customers. As a company, we are not afraid to try something new and different, to continue growing in all aspects of our business. In addition we have a great benefit program that includes paid vacation, paid sick, insurance plans, & 401K. I am honored to work with a great group of people who focus on giving great customer service and are family oriented. When I started working for Speedy Stop it was a temporary job and I had no plan to make a career of it. I was only working so that I could save some money to by a car. I did not expect this job to change my life. I have gone from a part time employee to a store manager in the past 12 year. Speedy Stop has shown me that I am capable of many things. I began working for Speedy Stop on Dec.15, 1995, at the age of 18. The manager gave me a chance, even though I did not have any prior work history. I told them that I really wanted to work and ask them to give me an opportunity to show that I was capable of performing the job and they did. I was hired as a part time employee, to stock and keep the store clean. After a few months, I was promoted to a full-time CSR. I was trained by a wonderful trainer who gave me all the knowledge I needed to succeed. A few months later, my supervisor promoted me to an Assistant Manager and I ran the store when my manager was not available. In this position, I learned to always strive to grow the top and have great customer service. Finally, my supervisor promoted me to Store Manager. I have learned many things since I stared working for Speedy Stop. I am a person with positive attitude. I am confident in my management skills and I am proud to operate a high volume store with a friendly, motivated staff. I have moved from a P/T employee to a Store Manager in the 12 years I have been employed by Speedy Stop. I will always be a part of the Speedy Stop Family.
